Ohio Fingerstyle Guitar Club Hall of Fame

Ohio and it's surrounding area has been the home of many wonderfully talented guitarists and educators of guitar over the years.  Some rose to the status of national celebrities while others were much more obscure staying at home to eek out a living as a professional guitarist.  No matter their fame, from time to time we will be paying tribute to those that gave so much to the art of guitar playing.

Hall of Fame

Al Myers (1920 - 2003) - Inducted on December 4, 2004, Lifetime Achievement - Guitarist/Entertainer - “For a lifetime dedication to the mastery of the guitar and for enriching the lives of so many with his wonderful entertainment.”

Bob Mowery (1934 - 2003) - Inducted on December 4, 2004, Lifetime Achievement - Guitarist/Mentor - “For a lifetime dedication to the art of thumb style guitar and for sharing his passion with so many young students of guitar.”

Elizabeth Houston - Inducted on February 26, 2005, Lifetime Achievement - Guitar Educator - "For a lifetime dedication to the teaching of guitar that added so much joy  to the lives of your many students.”

Palmer Moore - Inducted on May 14th, 2005, Lifetime Achievement - "For service and dedication above self in bringing your (his) vision of the OFGC to reality"  "For bringing together guitarists in friendship and for promoting fingerstyle guitar."  "Thanks for your dedication and passion."

Kenny Poole - Inducted on January 21, 2006, Lifetime Achievement - Jazz Guitar - "For a lifetime of fingerstyle jazz guitar.  Without equal - without compromise."

Billy Tustin - Inducted on April 8, 2010, Lifetime Achievement - Chet-Style Guitar - "For a lifetime of "pickin' like Chet."
